Grayslake and Palatine Migration Project

December 2019-September 2020

CCS is happy to welcome the Palatine Public Library District and the Grayslake Area Public Library District as our 27th and 28th members! Both libraries will go live in CCS September 9, 2020, following the Labor Day holiday.

Review details of the project below:

Palatine Public Library District

Palatine will bring:

  • 3 new branches for library users to visit

  • Up to 60,000 unique bibliographic records, based on an initial analysis

  • Over 64,000 new library cardholders to CCS

  • Annual circ of over 1.3 million

RAILS State of Resource Sharing map (left) shows Palatine's close proximity to other CCS libraries, including Ela, Indian Trails and Prospect Heights.

Grayslake Area Public Library District

The Grayslake Area Public Library District, located in Lake County, borders 3 existing CCS members:

  • Lake Villa

  • Round Lake Area

  • Fremont

Grayslake patrons are the 10th most active in the consortium among non-CCS patrons, making them a natural fit for CCS membership. In FY 18-19, Grayslake patrons initiated over 25,000 transactions across CCS libraries.
