Patron Statistical Class

What is a Patron Statistical Class?

Patron statistical classes contain demographic and background information that libraries may want to use for reporting purposes.

Polaris Patron Statistical Classes:

Business: A library card issued to a business or company within the library's service area.

 

 

City/Village Employee: Cards offered to municipal employees.

Home Services: Patrons who receive library materials through home delivery.

ILL - Inside IL: Cards issued to non-CCS libraries within Illinois.

ILL - Outside IL: Cards issued to non-CCS libraries outside of Illinois.

Library Board: Cards issued to members of the library's Board of Trustees.

Non-Resident Fee Card: An individual who lives in an unincorporated part of the city/village/district and has purchased a library card.

Non-Resident Taxpayer: An individual who lives in an unincorporated part of the city/village/district but owns property within the library's boundaries.

Organization: Cards issued to non-business community groups.

Outreach: Includes library cards issued to outreach patrons other than home services. 

Resident: A resident of the city/village/district who has registered for a free library card.

School: A library card issued to a school within the library's service area or that serves students living in the library's service area.

Staff: Library cards issued to  staff for personal use. 

Student: A library card issued to students of universities, colleges or other schools located within the library's service area.

Teacher: A library card issued to a teacher that works at a school within the library's service area.

Temporary Resident: Patrons residing in the library's service area for a shortened period of time.

Volunteer: Individuals who volunteer at the library.

In-House: Departmental cards used for library purposes.

Reciprocal: A non-CCS library patron.

Chicago Public Library: A patron whose home library is Chicago Public Library.
