Go Live Progress: Notice Day! **Updated - Notices Postponed **
April 18, 2018
Go Live Progress - Updated 4:25 PM
Notice Delivery Postponed Notice delivery is being postponed until tomorrow. We are working through a data issue that may cause notices to be sent to patrons who should not be eligible.
We will send an additional update tomorrow morning before launching the notice job.
Thank you for your patience. Please keep reading for additional details, and let us know if you have questions.
More Details The last notice date should have migrated from Symphony to Polaris. This date determines when a patron would next be eligible for a notice. In many cases, there was a date listed in a database table in the background, but not in the staff client or Leap in our testing throughout the day.
At this time, we are able to locate those dates in Leap and the staff client. However, given how late in the afternoon it is, and our desire to do additional testing, we are postponing until the morning.
Existing Holds If your library would like to add an extra day or to two for patrons to pick up their held holds, please email firstname.lastname@example.org before 8:30 AM on Thursday, April 19. CCS will bulk change these dates prior to running notices in the morning.
This would be done for all holds on the hold shelf at the requesting library. We would not be able to specify certain material types, patron codes, or hold until dates.
Notice Delivery Starts Today
Notice delivery will start today. Because of differences in system functionality and practices, the first run of notices can produce more notices than expected. CCS has worked with Polaris staff to put a special notice launch plan in place.
We will email libraries leads and circulation managers a print-only set of bills for material that has been overdue for 2 years or more shortly after 10:45. We will run and deliver notices between 12 and 1. Read our full post on what to expect.
Thank you to our circulation advisory group for revising our notice text, and to our translation volunteers for helping set up notice text in Spanish, Polish, Russian, Korean, Chinese, and Hindi. A few patrons have already selected notice language preferences! Patrons can make that selection at the time of registration or any time in PowerPAC My Account > Contact Information & Preferences.
Econtent configuration is ongoing. This means:
Direct download is not configured yet for Overdrive, 3M, or Recorded Books
PowerPAC displays multiple links for eresources. When configuration is complete, only relevant links will display to patrons
Some econtent was holdable. You may see these materials on your picklist. Your library should determine if these holds should be replaced or patrons contacted. Moving forward, new holds should be prohibited by the system until configuration of direct download is complete.
